Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Tri County Area). They snuck past the Reed City Coyotes with a 78-72 win on Friday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Vikings as it put an end to their eight-game losing streak.

Tri County Area's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Preston Pifer led the charge by almost dropping a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Pifer a new career-high in steals (four). Another player making a difference was Jayden Button, who went 5 for 7 on his way to 12 points.

Tri County Area was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Tri County Area's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 3-10. As for Reed City, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-12.
