The Mechanicsburg Wildcats will face off against the State College Little Lions at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Mechanicsburg will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run on Tuesday, then bounced right back against Central York on Friday. The Wildcats blew past the Panthers 10-2.

Eli Reider and Grady Weaver made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Reider pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Weaver struck out seven batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. He has become a key player for Mechanicsburg: the team is 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 1-2 otherwise. At bat, Reider scored a run while going 1-for-3, while Weaver went 2-for-4 with two runs and one triple. That triple marked the first that Weaver hit this season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jager Nailor, who scored a run while going 3-for-4. Luke Bencivenga was another key player, scoring three runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

State College not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 26, 2024. They were the clear victors by a 7-1 margin over Chambersburg. The Little Lions haven't had any issues with the Trojans recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Jude Scavone tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out eight over 4.2 innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.
Mechanicsburg now has a winning record of 4-3. As for State College, their victory bumped their record up to 2-3.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Monday. Mechanicsburg hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.4 home runs per game. However, it's not like State College struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.6 home runs.
