The Emerald Vikings's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They fell just short of Greenwood Christian by a score of 70-67. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Greenwood Christian got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Isaiah Scott-Palacios out in front who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 13 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Ty Kennedy, who scored 22 points along with eight rebounds.
Emerald bumped their record down to 6-9 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Greenwood Christian, their win bumped their record up to 9-3.
Emerald and Saluda will face off at 8:00 p.m. on January 4, 2024 without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Greenwood Christian will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Spartanburg Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on January 9, 2024.
