Patrick Henry's defeat came about despite a quality game from Owen Andersen, who posted six points.
Even though they lost, Patrick Henry smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in 13 consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, San Diego was able to grind out a solid win over University City on Tuesday, taking the game 74-61.
Patrick Henry better focus on containing Lamar Smith and Isaiah Marte as the pair were huge in San Diego's win. Smith went 10 for 13 en route to 28 points, while Marte went 8 of 14 on his way to 19 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Marte's evening made it 11 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Pierre Anderson, who put up seven points and six assists.
San Diego pushed their record up to 15-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.8 points per game. As for Patrick Henry, their loss dropped their record down to 8-14.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Patrick Henry has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 33.3 rebounds per game. However, it's not like San Diego struggles in that department as they've been averaging 31.1 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
