Mount Michael Benedictine is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They took down O'Neill 28-14. The Knights pushed the score to 28-7 by the end of the third, a deficit the Eagles cut but never quite recovered from.
Brady Quinlivan produced another solid effort picking up 44 receiving yards and one touchdown, while also rushing for 34 yards. He didn't just play on offense: he also made six total tackles and defended two passes.
Special teams also deserves some recognition, posting 14 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Quinlivan, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.
Mount Michael Benedictine didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Nate Oldehoeft and Ramold. Ramold got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Wahoo won against Concordia last Friday with 69 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. The Warriors breezed past Milford to the tune of 69-14. Fans of the Warriors have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.
The match pitted two dominant backs against one another in Brigham and Zane Wittstruck. Brigham had a great game and gained 274 total yards and seven touchdowns. Meanwhile, Wittstruck did his best for the losing side, rushing for 60 yards and one TD, while also catching one score.
Wahoo's victory bumped their record up to 10-0. As for Mount Michael Benedictine, their win bumped their record up to 8-2.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Mount Michael Benedictine has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 236.1 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Wahoo struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 311.7 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Mount Michael Benedictine was taken down by Wahoo 62-21 in their previous meeting back in October. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Brigham, who rushed for 270 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 16.9 yards per carry, and also picked up 104 receiving yards and one score.
