CIBOLO, Texas -
Steele (Cibolo, Texas) kept up a steady attack all game long to defeat
East Central (San Antonio, Texas), 28-0, on Saturday.
The Knights were up 14-0 at the half after taking the lead on a
Keshawn Brown touchdown run in the first quarter.
Steele expanded its lead to 21 points entering the fourth quarter. SHS's lone score in the quarter came on a
Justin Stockton touchdown run.
With the win the Cibolo school extended its winning streak to eight games. The Knights defeated the Bobcats 63-0 last week.
Stockton stood out for Steele in the win. The junior running back ran for three touchdowns. He has now scored seven touchdowns on the season.
SHS went into the matchup giving up only 15.9 points per game.
The loss comes after East Central defeated Southwest 52-21 last week. The loss snapped the Hornets' 3-game winning streak.
In a 5A Region IV District 28 game next week Steele (8-0) takes on Carroll, and East Central (5-3) will go up against South San Antonio also in a 5A Region IV District 28 game.
