Baseball Recap: Dock Mennonite Has No Trouble Against Calvary Christian Academy

Dock Mennonite barely beat Calvary Christian Academy the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Pioneers put the hurt on the Cougars with a sharp 10-1 win on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Pioneers, who have now won eight games by nine runs or more so far this season.

Dock Mennonite let Ethan Kratz and Brayden Kratz run wild. Ethan went 2-for-3 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs, while Brayden went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Those six RBI gave Ethan a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Rylan Purnell, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and two runs.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Dock Mennonite kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Calvary Christian Academy only managed five hits.

The victory made it two in a row for Dock Mennonite and bumps their season record up to 11-3. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games. As for Calvary Christian Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season.

Dock Mennonite will square off against Bristol at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (the Pioneers have won seven straight at home, while the Warriors won three straight on the road), something that'll have to change. As for Calvary Christian Academy, they will face off against Valley Forge Military Academy at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. The Cougars are facing the Trojans at the right time seeing as the Trojans are stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
