After three games on the road, Wellington is heading back home. They will take on the Keystone Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Wellington can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent contest on Monday. They put the hurt on Valley Forge with a sharp 53-27 win. Given Wellington's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 314th, while Valley Forge is ranked 734th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Keystone put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They snuck past North Olmsted with a 26-21 victory. Despite the victory, that was the fewest points Keystone has scored all season.
Keystone's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Vivian Cassell led the charge by scoring six points along with 11 rebounds and two steals. Cassell hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Madyson Sokolowski was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with three steals.
Wellington pushed their record up to 15-6 with that victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Keystone, their victory bumped their record up to 21-0.
Wellington and Keystone were neck-and-neck when the teams last played back in January, but Wellington came up empty-handed after a 31-30 defeat.
