Even though the Joppatowne Mariners scored an imposing 64 points on Tuesday, the Eastern Tech Mavericks still came out on top. Eastern Tech had just enough and edged Joppatowne out 67-64. The win made it back-to-back wins for Eastern Tech.
Eastern Tech's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jericho Wondeye, who scored 19 points along with 5 rebounds and 5 steals. Another player making a difference was Brian James Jr, who scored 8 points along with 8 assists and 8 steals.
Eastern Tech's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Joppatowne, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
Eastern Tech will play host again and welcome Lansdowne, where tip off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Joppatowne, they will head out on the road to face off against Patterson Mill at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
