The Roger Bacon Spartans will head out on the road to square off against the Bishop Hartley Hawks at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Wednesday, Roger Bacon was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 39-35 to Taylor.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Gussie Hoffman, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabby Ernst, who scored six points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Bishop Hartley's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their ninth straight loss. They fell 62-50 to Chaminade Julienne Catholic. That's two games in a row now that Bishop Hartley has lost by exactly 12 points.
Roger Bacon's loss dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Bishop Hartley, they bumped their record down to 3-11 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road.
Roger Bacon suffered a grim 49-29 defeat to Bishop Hartley in their previous matchup back in December of 2021. Can Roger Bacon avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
