The Nucla Mustangs scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 50-32 victory over North Park. The win was just what Nucla needed coming off of a 53-20 defeat in their prior game.
Nucla found their leader in underclassman Lantry Galley, who scored 22 points. Those 22 points set a new season-high mark for her. Kendra McCluer was another key contributor, scoring six points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Despite the loss, North Park still got an impressive performance from Dezirae Gonzales, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Mykenzi Ramsey, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds.
Nucla now has a winning record of 3-2. As for North Park, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
Nucla is on the road again on Saturday and play against Dove Creek at 12:00 p.m. on December 9th. Hopefully Dove Creek focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Friday. As for North Park, they will head out on the road to face off against Rangely at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Rangely is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games.
