Volleyball Recap: Gordon Lee Starts Season with Victory on the Road

Gordon Lee had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They came out on top against the North Murray Mountaineers by a score of 2-0. The Trojans haven't had any issues with the Mountaineers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

While Gordon Lee won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-14.

Emma Young paced Gordon Lee's offense, picking up 12 kills. Young got some help from Whitney Blaylock and her 20 assists. Blaylock was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

North Murray is on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Gordon Lee has already played their next game, a 2-0 loss against Soddy Daisy on the 12th. As for North Murray, they will square off against Sonoraville at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
