The Edison Chargers will face off against the Margaretta Polar Bears at 4:45 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Edison has three straight wins, Margaretta has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
While Edison's victory against Norwalk wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Chargers had just enough and edged out the Truckers 2-1 on Thursday. The two-run effort marked the Chargers' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Abby Cloud spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Edison saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Stella Brown, who went 1-for-4 with one run.
For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Margaretta and Huron meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Wednesday. The Polar Bears came up short against the Tigers, falling 16-3.
Elianna Young made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. Brooke Hastings was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
Edison pushed their record up to 12-5 with the win, which was their ninth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Margaretta, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-9.
Margaretta's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Edison has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .479. It's a different story for Margaretta, though, as they've only averaged .359. Will they be able to contain Edison's hitters?
Edison took their win against Margaretta when the teams last played on April 11th by a conclusive 22-3 score. Do the Chargers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Polar Bears turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
