Section 9 C-II recap October 8, 2013
Millbrook scaled the state rankings by moving to 68 from 103 this week, the biggest jump in Section 9 C-II. The Blazers were able to move up by defeating O'Neill 28-21.
Millbrook extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating the Raiders, 28-21. The victory was the fifth in a row for Sean Keenan's team.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, Liberty's Quinn Jackson and Patrick Fitzpatrick have proven to be a lethal combination. 6-0 quarterback Jackson has thrown for 395 yards this season, while Fitzpatrick has 8 catches for 179 yards. The Blazers' Henry Cardinal leads the league in rushing yards with 761.
The top two teams in Section 9 C-II will face off this week when first place Millbrook takes on second place Liberty. Last week, Millbrook beat O'Neill, while the Indians defeated Sullivan West.
Fans will be thrilled by an exciting game in the secondary when Liberty's Fitzpatrick goes up against the Blazers' Devo'n Jackson.
Next week's game between John Wilhelm's team and Millbrook will feature a good passing match up as Jackson will test his arm against Jackson's defensive ability.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when the Indians take on the Blazers. Liberty has allowed 124 points this season, while Millbrook has given up 79. The Indians allowed 19 points last week as they beat the Bulldogs.
