It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Perkins-Tryon Demons had no problem doing just that on Friday. They breezed by Lone Grove at home to the tune of 48-6. The win was familiar territory for Perkins-Tryon who now have eight in a row.
Perkins-Tryon's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Wyatt Atkinson, who rushed for 72 yards and a touchdown on only five carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Beckham Smith, who rushed for 65 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries.
Perkins-Tryon's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 42.8 points per game. As for Lone Grove, their loss dropped their record down to 7-4.
Perkins-Tryon will take on Holland Hall at TBD on Friday. Holland Hall is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Lone Grove does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
