Legend has gone 8-2 against Castle View recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Titans will host the Sabercats at 4:30 p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
While Legend's victory against Chaparral wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Titans skirted past the Wolverines 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Titans have posted against the Wolverines since April 22, 2017.
Tyler Houston tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out nine over 6.1 innings pitched.
At the plate, Jacob Fladebo was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2024.
Legend was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .414. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Chaparral only posted a batting average of .154.
Meanwhile, Castle View faced Ponderosa in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Sabercats sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 victory over the Mustangs. The Sabercats have beaten the Mustangs the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Mustangs has come to flipping the script.
Castle View also got a great performance from Ethan Scott as he pitched six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jacob Allen, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI. Tyler Feldhake was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one triple and one RBI.
Castle View's win bumped their record up to 16-6. As for Legend, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-14.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Friday. Legend hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.4 home runs per game. However, it's not like Castle View struggles in that department as they've been averaging 1 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Legend came out on top in a nail-biter against Castle View in their previous meeting back in April, sneaking past 8-6. Do the Titans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Sabercats turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
