The Liberty Bison had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23.5 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Thursday. They really took it to Lakeside for the full four quarters, racking up a 87-48 win on the road. With Liberty ahead 46-17 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Several Lancers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Maurice Turner, who scored 16 points. Turner scored a full 33.3% of Lakeside's points, the seventh time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Andrew Knudson, who scored 16 points along with nine rebounds.
Liberty is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. As for Lakeside, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-10.
