Basketball Recap: Lylah Brown's Big Game Can't Quite Lead David Anderson over Wellsville

David Anderson lost against Wellsville back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The David Anderson Blue Devils lost 53-30 to the Wellsville Tigers. The Blue Devils have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

David Anderson's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lylah Brown, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine boards. Brown is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: she's pulled down at least nine every time she's taken the court this season. Jayden Smyth was another key player, putting up six points along with five assists and four steals.

Even though they lost, David Anderson smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in three consecutive matchups.

David Anderson now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Wellsville, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

David Anderson didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 47-14 defeat against United on the 9th. As for Wellsville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 33-26 win against East Palestine on the 7th.
