Make it six blowout wins for the Unity Christian Lions this season. They blew past Shiloh Hills Christian 63-28 at home on Friday. The victory was just what Unity Christian needed coming off of a 60-38 defeat in their prior game.
Unity Christian found their leader in underclassman Anna Grace Wells, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Wells has scored all season. Sydney Thompson was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Shiloh Hills Christian's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Keila Fernandes, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds. Fernandes is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Autumn Germaine, who scored 15 points.
Unity Christian now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Shiloh Hills Christian, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season.
Unity Christian will head out on the road to take on the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Excel Christian Academy is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak. As for Shiloh Hills Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Horizon Christian Academy will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.
