They took  a  2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Madison Academy Mustangs. The Golden Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mustangs apparently hadn't forgotten their  defeat the last time these teams played  back in September of 2024.
Athens' loss dropped their record down to 9-13. As for Madison Academy, they have  been performing  well recently as they've  won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-10 record  this season.
 Coincidentally, Athens and Madison Academy will both be playing Athens Bible the next time they take the court. The Mustangs will head out to face the Trojans at 12:00  p.m.  on Saturday, while the Golden Eagles will play them later in the day, at 1:00  p.m.
