The Servite Friars and the Santa Margarita Eagles (ranked 80 and 77 in the MaxPreps national rankings respectively) squared off in a high-profile match. Servite came out on top against Santa Margarita by a score of 50-42 on Friday. Servite just can't catch a break and has now endured four defeats in a row.
Servite's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Leo Hannan, who threw for 343 yards and four touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes. Quaid Carr was another key contributor, gaining 156 total yards and two touchdowns.
Trent Mosley and Skylar Lendsey, Santa Margarita certainly did their beston Friday to try and avoid the loss. Mosley gained 237 total yards and four touchdowns, while Lendsey rushed for 140 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.8 yards per carry. Mosley's longest reception was for an incredible 84 yards. Another player making a difference was James Johnson, who threw for 144 yards and two touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes.
Servite's win bumped their record up to 5-4. As for Santa Margarita, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 5-4.
