Mission Vista's's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 74-68 hit to the loss column at the hands of Valley Center. Mission Vista was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Valley Center apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February.
Valley Center's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kevin Garcia led the charge by scoring 17 points along with six assists and six rebounds. The game was Garcia's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Carson Yoder, who scored 19 points along with three steals.
Mission Vista has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-6 record this season. As for Valley Center, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mission Vista will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Army-Navy at 1:30 p.m. on December 16th. As for Valley Center, they will take on Clairemont at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Clairemont is on a four-game streak of home wins, Valley Center a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
