Softball Recap: Lewisburg Wins Going Away Against Arlington

Lewisburg won against Mantachie last Thursday with nine runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. Everything went the Lewisburg Patriots' way against the Arlington Tigers as the Lewisburg Patriots made off with a 9-1 victory. The Patriots haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Emma Abrams spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on two hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Lewisburg got a massive performance out of Mikayla Johnson, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Leona-Klaire Stokes, who scored four runs while going 3-for-3.

Lewisburg was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .357 or higher in four consecutive matches.

Lewisburg's record now sits at 7-3. As for Arlington, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1-1.

Looking ahead, Lewisburg will take on Bellaire at 8:00 a.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Bellaire 3.9, Lewisburg 4.1) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Arlington, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Arlington Tigers face off against Southwind Jaguars at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
