3A Southern recap November 13, 2013
The Classical Academy extended the longest winning streak in 3A Southern this week by beating Conifer, 14-12. The victory was the sixth in a row for the Titans.
Pueblo East took down Discovery Canyon 47-13 last week, the largest margin of any game. Danny Martin threw for 68 yards and ran for 166 yards in the win.
Jantzen Ryals put up the best numbers in passing as The Classical Academy topped the Lobos. He finished with a total of 20 completions for 250 yards and 1 touchdown. Ryals' favorite target this week was Dakota Yourkowski, who caught 5 passes for 103 yards.
6-foot-1 quarterback Ryals of David Bervig's team is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1,535. He has also thrown 13 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Nikko Valdez. The Pueblo Central star has 60 catches for 905 yards.
So far this year, he has garnered 60 catches for 905 yards.
The Titans and Conifer played the closest game in the league this week, with the Titans eventually emerging with a 14-12 victory. Ryals ran for 23 yards during the win.
