Bloom-Carroll was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 19-25, 25-21, 22-25, 25-22, 15-10.
Sylvia Haughn paced Bloom-Carroll's offense, picking up 24 kills. Haughn got some help from Renee Smith and her 45 assists. Haughn also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Kylynne Sollberger, each putting up two.
Bloom-Carroll's record is now 26-1. As for Jonathan Alder, they moved to 24-3 with that defeat, which also ended their six-match winning streak.
Coming up, after both having extra time off, Bloom-Carroll and Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 1:30 p.m. on Friday. Jonathan Alder does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
