It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Troup County Tigers ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They walked away with a 67-60 win over Valley. Troup County's victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.
Troup County got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Nasha Daniel out in front who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds. Daniel is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ma'liyah Gilbert, who scored 25 points along with 4 steals.
Troup County's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 3-1.
Troup County will head out on the road to face off against LaFayette at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. LaFayette is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Valley, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Callaway at 3:30 p.m.
