Hasbrouck Heights (N.J.) extended its winning streak to six games with a 49-15 victory over Saddle Brook (N.J.) on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a
Steven Salerno touchdown run in the first quarter, the Aviators were up 41-7 at the half.
Both teams scored eight points in the third quarter, so the margin remained at 34 at the start of the fourth.
Darren Iurato played well for Hasbrouck Heights in the victory. The senior quarterback threw two touchdowns and ran for one touchdown. He has now scored eight touchdowns on the season.
HH went into the matchup giving up only 9.6 points per game.
The Aviators also won the meeting between the two teams last season, 31-17.
The defeat comes as a step back for Saddle Brook, who notched a 42-14 victory over North Arlington in its previous outing.
Saddle Brook (1-5) goes up against Queen of Peace in a North Jersey - Meadowlands game matchup next week, while Hasbrouck Heights (6-0) locks horns with Waldwick/Midland Park also in a North Jersey - Meadowlands game.
