Mercer had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the nine-run drubbing they dealt Moniteau on Friday. The Mustangs blew past the Warriors 10-1. Considering the Mustangs have won four games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

The victory was the third in a row for Mercer, bringing their record up to 11-1. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.7 runs over those games. As for Moniteau, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

Coming up, Mercer will take on Laurel at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Mustangs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Spartans have averaged an impressive 10 runs per game this season. As for Moniteau, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, an 11-10 loss against Redbank Valley on the 1st.
