Gering has been on the road for four straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Scottsbluff Bearcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Gering will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Nebraska Rankings (they are ranked 117th, while Scottsbluff is ranked 27th).
Last Saturday, Gering was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 53-52 to North Platte.
Meanwhile, Scottsbluff beat McCook 59-52 on Saturday.
Scottsbluff found their leader in underclassman Nate Kelley, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and six assists. Another player making a difference was Esai Sabala, who scored ten points along with two steals.
Gering's loss dropped their record down to 8-13. As for Scottsbluff, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season.
