On Wednesday, the Timberland Wolves's game was all tied up 18-18 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They walked away with a 45-35 victory over Lake Marion. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Timberland.
Timberland found their leader in underclassman China Greene, who scored 11 points along with five assists and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Samara Scott, who scored four points along with 14 rebounds.
Despite the loss, Lake Marion still got an impressive performance from Danasia Wright, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds. Teonna Allen was another key contributor, scoring four points along with six assists and six rebounds.
Timberland is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season. As for Lake Marion, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-7.
Timberland on the road again on Saturday and play against Bishop England at 2:30 p.m. on January 13th. Bishop England will be looking to keep their eight-game home win streak alive. As for Lake Marion, they will square off against Swansea at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in South Carolina (Swansea is ranked 189th, while Lake Marion is ranked 178th).
