The Marine City Mariners lost against the Richmond Blue Devils back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Marine City received a tough blow as they fell 60-46 to Richmond. Marine City has not had much luck with Richmond recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Despite the loss, Marine City had strong showings from Danny VandeVyver, who scored 14 points along with three steals, and Liam Adams, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds. Adams is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jonathan Hand, who scored seven points.
Marine City has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season. As for Richmond, their victory bumped their record up to 2-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Marine City will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Lakeview at 7:00 p.m. on January 10, 2024. Richmond will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Caro at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
