The Granite Hills Eagles are taking a road trip to square off against the El Capitan Vaqueros at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Granite Hills has given up an average of 7.5 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Granite Hills was handed a seven-run defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Friday. They skirted past Southwest EC 14-13. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for Granite Hills considering their two-run performance the matchup before.

Granite Hills let Taylor Nash and Olivia Cirar run wild. Nash fired off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while going 3-for-4, while Cirar went 3-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave Cirar a new career-high. Ariana Parent was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one double.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Granite Hills kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.4 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 10.4.
Steele Canyon hit El Capitan with a four-run first inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Vaqueros fell 6-1 to the Cougars. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Vaqueros couldn't push the score so high this time.
El Capitan saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Quinnley Morehouse, who went 1-for-2 with one double.
El Capitan's loss dropped their record down to 11-11. As for Granite Hills, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-13.
Granite Hills was able to grind out a solid victory over El Capitan when the teams last played back in April, winning 14-11. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
