It was a proper cat-fight when Central Kitsap faced off against Bellarmine Prep on Friday. The Central Kitsap Cougars were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 60-59 to the Bellarmine Prep Lions. The Cougars' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Bellarmine Prep's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kyla Frazier led the charge by going 11 for 20 on her way to 26 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals. Frazier's evening made it five games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Melina Petramalo, who went 6 for 11 on her way to 13 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals.

Central Kitsap's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Bellarmine Prep, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Central Kitsap didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 55-14 win against Mount Tahoma on the 17th. Bellarmine Prep has also already played their next game, a 68-29 victory against Lincoln on the 17th.
