The Muncie Central Bearcats will head out on the road to  square off against  the Marion Giants at 5:30  p.m.  on Monday. Muncie Central will come in still looking for their first win of the season.
 Muncie Central is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 16  runs  on Monday, they were much more limited against Monroe Central  on Thursday. They lost  17-1 to the Golden Bears.
 Meanwhile,  there's no place like home for Marion, who bounced back after a  loss on the road  on Monday. They put the hurt on Fort Wayne North Side with a sharp  14-8 win on Wednesday. The  victory was some much needed relief for Marion as it spelled an end to their 11-game losing streak dating back to last season.
  Chistin Morgan made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out six batters over  seven innings while giving up  three earned  (and five unearned) runs off   five  hits. Morgan was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while  getting on base  in four of her five plate appearances.
 In other batting news,  Zi'Onna Cole was a standout: she went 4-for-5 with five  RBI, a  triple,  and a  run.  Mia Weaver was another key contributor,  scoring three  runs and  stealing two bases while going 3-for-4.
 Muncie Central's loss dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Marion, their win  ended  a  four-game drought at home  and  bumped them up to 1-10.
 Muncie Central beat Marion 17-13  in their previous meeting  back in April of 2022. Will Muncie Central repeat their success,  or does  Marion have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
