The Rye Thunderbolts's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Salida, falling 52-24. Rye has not had much luck with Salida recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Rye lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Taci Ehrlich, who scored nine points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Salida's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Graysa Kindle led the charge by scoring ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Juliana Anch, who scored 12 points.
Rye bumped their record down to 1-7 with that loss, which was their sixth straight at home. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 19.2 points per game. As for Salida, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-4.
Rye will be playing in front of their home fans against Rocky Ford at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Salida, they will head out on the road to take on Peyton at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Peyton is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
