After flying high against the Saint Francis Catholic Wolves last Friday, The Father Lopez Green Wave came back down to earth. Father Lopez fell to Taylor 28-24. Father Lopez was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Taylor apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2022.
Despite the loss, Father Lopez still got an impressive performance from Jacob Lohman, who threw for 313 yards and three touchdowns. Lech Sweeney also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Taylor to victory, but perhaps none more so than Josiah Smith, who rushed for 138 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.3 yards per carry. Anthony Miler was another key contributor, rushing for 72 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries.
Father Lopez's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 2-8. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 14.0 points per game. As for Taylor, their victory bumped their record up to 4-5.
Father Lopez does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Taylor also has no future games currently scheduled.
