The South Fork Cubs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 30 points or more this season. They claimed a resounding 62-31 victory over Point Arena at home. The win made it back-to-back wins for South Fork.
Several Pirates players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Fernando Lopez, who scored ten points along with nine rebounds. Lopez scored a full 32.3% of Point Arena's points, the eighth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Dauki Bechtol, who scored eight points along with 13 rebounds and three steals.
South Fork pushed their record up to 8-2 with that win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.5 points per game. As for Point Arena, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-3.
South Fork will be home for the holidays to greet Fortuna at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Point Arena won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Round Valley at 6:30 p.m. on December 15th.
