It was a good run, but the Mattituck Tuckers unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a 51-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of Babylon. Mattituck was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January.
Babylon's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Delaney Busch, who scored ten points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Busch has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Peyton Logue-boyd, who scored 11 points.
Mattituck's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Babylon, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a massive bump to their 10-6 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mattituck will take on the Knights at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Babylon, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against the Islanders at 6:15 p.m. Shelter Island comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last five games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
