Damien Alloway of Summit ran for the longest rushing play in Sunkist this season against Grand Terrace last week. Alloway scampered for 85 yards on the play and finished with 116 on the day as his team beat Grand Terrace.
Kaiser added to the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Colton, 14-0. The victory was the sixth in a row for the team.
Summit's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Keshon Flemings threw for 222 and 2 touchdowns and Jordan Washington had 60 yards receiving. On the ground Alloway contributed 116 yards. Randy Alloway helped Summit's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 68 yards.
He was 9-16 with 0 interceptions.
Flemings put up the best numbers in passing as Cesar Villalobos' team defeated Harold Strauss' team. Flemings' favorite target this week was Washington, who caught 3 passes for 60 yards.
6-foot-1 quarterback Flemings of the SkyHawks is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1,526. He has also thrown 12 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Cruz Duke. The Grand Terrace star has 26 catches for 663 yards.
Two of the top units in the league will face off this week when Grand Terrace takes on Kaiser. Grand Terrace's offense has recorded 229 points this season, making them No. 1 in the league, while Phil Zeyala's team has permitted only 112 on the year.
Fans will be treated to a premier battle in the secondary when Grand Terrace's Duke goes up against the Cats' Cedric Citizen.
An important game coming up in Sunkist this week will be when Kaiser takes on Grand Terrace. As it stands, the Cats are in first, while Grand Terrace is in third.
There should be lots of points scored when Kaiser and Grand Terrace face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Cats comes in having scored 209 this season, while Grand Terrace has scored 229. Kaiser scored 14 points last week as it topped the Yellowjackets.
Summit scaled the state rankings by moving to 331 from 360 this week, the biggest jump in the league. The SkyHawks climbed the ranks as a result of beating Grand Terrace 34-0.
