The Henryville Hornets's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fifth straight defeat. They were the victim of a rough 75-55 loss at the hands of Eastern. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Despite the defeat, Henryville saw an underclassman step up: Gavin Cooper scored 15 points. Brody White was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Henryville's defeat was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-11. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.4 points per game. As for Eastern, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-9.
Henryville will head out on the road to take on the Pioneers at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Providence presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Hornets in Indiana (the Pioneers are ranked 36th, while the Hornets are ranked 342nd). As for Eastern, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against the Pirates at 7:30 p.m.
