Globe's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaeger Franco, who threw for 120 yards and three touchdowns. Franco's passing game has become a key predictor of the Tigers' success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 2-4 otherwise. Braden Wager was another key receiver, picking up 51 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.
Globe was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 203 rushing yards. They are a perfect 3-0 when they've run for more than 200 yards.
Globe didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Matt Hollis, Markitos Franco, and Jaeger picked up one apiece. Jaeger got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Lincoln Prep, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They blew past ALA - Anthem South 32-8 on Friday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Lightning needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.
Globe better focus on containing Joshua Morris and Connor Mewhinney as the pair were huge in Lincoln Prep's win. Morris rushed for 73 yards and one score, while Mewhinney picked up 79 receiving yards and one touchdown. Mewhinney was even better on defense, picking up three sacks and making seven total tackles.
On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Lincoln Prep's defense and their five sacks. Leading the way was Mewhinney with three.
The victory snapped Lincoln Prep's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-6 record. As for Globe, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
