It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Skyridge Falcons had no problem doing just that on Friday. They came out on top against American Fork by a score of 34-21. The victory was familiar territory for Skyridge who now have three in a row.
Skyridge's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jackson Stevens led the charge by throwing for 253 yards and five touchdowns. Stevens hasn't dropped below three passing touchdowns for 12 straight games. Jack Burke also helped out with an impressive 114 receiving yards.
Despite the loss, American Fork still got an impressive performance from Dylan Story, who threw for 263 yards and three touchdowns. Story has been hot recently, having posted three or more passing touchdowns the last five times he's played.
Skyridge's victory bumped their record up to 11-3. As for American Fork, their loss ended a 12-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 11-2.
Skyridge will head out on the road to face off against Corner Canyon at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Corner Canyon's favor is that they have now posted big point totals every time they've taken the field this season. American Fork does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
