The Antwerp Archers won against the Fairview Apaches last Monday with 59 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. Antwerp enjoyed a cozy 59-44 victory over Fairview. Given Antwerp's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 169th, while Fairview is ranked 513th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Antwerp got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Landon Brewer out in front who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds. Brewer is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Carson Altimus was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with six rebounds and five steals.
Antwerp pushed their record up to 12-1 with that victory, which was their sixth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.0 points per game. As for Fairview, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Antwerp won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Lincolnview at 7:30 p.m. on January 20th. Lincolnview is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak. Fairview won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Defiance at 6:00 p.m. on January 20th.
