The Walton Warriors can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Wednesday. They enjoyed a cozy 42-28 win over Deposit-Hancock. Walton pushed the score to 38-16 by the end of the third, a deficit the cut but never quite recovered from.
Walton found their leader in underclassman Grace Walley, who scored 18 points along with seven steals and six rebounds. Walley is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 11 games she's played. Eve Foster was another key contributor, scoring three points along with seven assists and five rebounds.
Walton now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Deposit-Hancock, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Walton will take on the Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Delaware Academy presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Warriors in New York (the Bulldogs are ranked 142nd, while the Warriors are ranked 364th). As for Deposit-Hancock, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against the Spartans at 7:00 p.m. Unatego has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
