The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Weatherford Express HomeSchool has struggled recently with four defeats in a row, while Community Christian will arrive with 13 straight wins.
Last Tuesday, Weatherford Express HomeSchool was the victim of a tough 61-37 loss at the hands of Azle Christian.
Community Christian has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matches by 20 points or more this season. They breezed by Victory Baptist Academy at home to the tune of 56-25. Given Community Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 394th, while Victory Baptist Academy is ranked 1384th), the result on Tuesday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Community Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Price Horton, who scored 17 points along with five assists and five rebounds. Horton continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Josiah Marquez, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds.
Weatherford Express HomeSchool's defeat was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-4. As for Community Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 15-1.
Weatherford Express HomeSchool was dealt a bruising 88-43 loss at the hands of Community Christian in their previous meeting back in February. The contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Weatherford Express HomeSchool was down 50-28.
