Axel Prechel, Corvallis's leader in doubles on the season, led the team again on Wednesday. Prechel wasn't messing around, going 2-for-4 with two doubles, one stolen base, and two RBI. The contest was his third straight with two or more doubles.

Even though Prechel couldn't lead Corvallis over West Albany, he won't have to wait long to try again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Sadly, Prechel's big day wasn't enough to stop the loss, which snapped the Spartans' six-game streak of wins at home. With the streak broken, Prechel and the Spartans surely have a bit of extra motivation heading into Friday's match.
