The Strom Thurmond Rebels had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 34.5 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They claimed a resounding 43-8 victory over Fox Creek on the road. Strom Thurmond's offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.
Leading Strom Thurmond to victory were Braylon Staley and Quan Edmond. Staley picked up 104 receiving yards and three touchdowns, while Edmond threw for 198 yards and four touchdowns while completing 77.8% of his passes.
Strom Thurmond's win was their third straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 8-2. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 33.67 points. As for Fox Creek, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.
Strom Thurmond will be playing in front of their home fans against Landrum at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Landrum is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Fox Creek does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
