Tim Gaulden and Amadou Onyia certainly did their best on Thursday to try and avoid the loss. Gaulden scored 15 points, while Onyia scored 16 points along with 5 rebounds. Gaulden scored a full 25.9% of Creekside's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Dorian Hardy was another key contributor, scoring 7 points along with 6 rebounds and 3 blocks.
Langston Hughes' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brentis Schaeffer led the charge by scoring 20 points along with 6 rebounds. The matchup was Schaeffer's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jaron LeMelle, who scored 14 points along with 8 rebounds and 4 steals.
Creekside's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Langston Hughes, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-1.
Creekside will head out on the road to face off against Lithia Springs at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lithia Springs is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. Langston Hughes won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Decatur at 7:30 p.m. on December 1st. One thing working in Decatur's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three games.
