On Saturday, Durand beat Woodlands Academy 29-16.
Durand got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Aurora Hilton out in front who scored 5 points along with 10 rebounds. Hilton is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Vaida Lahey, who scored 7 points along with 4 steals.
Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Abigail Hironimus, who scored 6 points along with 6 steals.
The win got Durand back to even at 2-2. As for Woodlands Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Durand will challenge South Beloit at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. South Beloit comes in still looking for their first win of the season. Woodlands Academy is on the road again on Tuesday and play against Francis W. Parker at 5:00 p.m. on November 28th. Hopefully Francis W. Parker focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 34 on Wednesday.
