Given St. Francis' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 92nd, while Fenwick is ranked 320th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
St. Francis' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was T?a Rubino, who scored 17 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Rubino has scored at least 25% of St. Francis' points. Lynsey Cleveland was another key contributor, scoring five points along with 11 rebounds.
St. Francis' win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-8. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.0 points per game. As for Fenwick, their loss dropped their record down to 4-14.
St. Francis will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Saint Viator at 7:00 p.m. on January 9th. Saint Viator is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak. As for Fenwick, they will be playing at home against DePaul College Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
